Darren MacDonald, Director and Funeral Director
After 20 years working in Hampshire and Wiltshire employed by Corporate Funeral Directors, I decided I wanted to create a business where I could imprint my way of doing things on this most worthwhile service to the community.
I have always enjoyed helping people but to be allowed to proceed with someone's last wish is an absolute honour. With this understanding, you are helping to arrange a truly unique event, which will reflect the individual who has died and the hopes of those who loved them.
The doors of our Funeral Home were opened in 2014, complete with Workshop and Chapel dedicated by the Clergy of nearby St Thomas’ Church ... and we look forward to be being there for you in the many years to come.
Chris Orledge, Funeral Director
I started my working career in Retail, as I had always enjoyed talking, helping someone make the right choice for them. After many years of working away, I felt that it was time to make a career change. I applied for a Trainee Funeral Director's position at Will Case & Partners, gaining a Diploma in Funeral Directing. This I achieved in 1992 after a year-long course.
To me, being a Funeral Director is more than just directing a funeral. I will go that extra mile to ensure that the family receive the very best that I can give and what they deserve, so that sometimes they become an extension of my own family.
I have seen a lot of changes in the last 29 years. Funerals have become more personal, with the families giving a lot more input to the occasion.
Richard Adlem MBE
Richard Adlem MBE, Funeral Director, who organised the burials of former Prime Minister, Sir Anthony Eden and the Author, Terry Pratchett, has worked alongside Darren MacDonald.
Whilst running his business in Sixpenny Handley, Dorset, for more than half a century Richard organised ceremonies for many of the great and good. He conducted the funerals of Royal Photographer, Sir Cecil Beaton and Flight-Refuelling Pioneer, Sir Michael Cobham.
A lifelong bachelor, however, Richard said he wants to pass the Company on to somebody who would keep the goodwill of his name going.
